Kookaburra Aura Cricket Bats: Grades, Profile and Prices

The Kookaburra Aura is a big-edged bat with a high sweet spot, which Kookaburra describe as a lightweight profile packing a heavyweight punch, for the player who favours a traditional feel. The Aura is not part of Kookaburra's 2026 range, so the bats we stock are 2024 and 2025 models, and once they sell the family is gone. This guide explains the Aura profile and grades, what independent testers made of it, the junior sizes, and lists every Aura we stock with our prices.
The Aura Profile
Every senior Aura in our stock carries the same measurements in its specification:
- Sweet spot: about 210mm to 230mm from the toe, high in the blade, which rewards driving on the up and back-foot play on pitches with some bounce.
- Edges: 36mm to 38mm, rounded, with a spine of 64mm to 68mm.
- Scallop and bow: 1mm to 2mm of scalloping, so the wood stays in the blade, and a 10mm to 14mm bow.
- Handle: Kookaburra's standard handle.
Kookaburra's own Aura range page pitches it at the player who wants a traditional feel. Next to the Kahuna, whose sweet spot sits at 200mm to 210mm with 34mm to 37mm edges, the Aura is higher and chunkier. Our guides to the Kookaburra Kahuna and Kookaburra Ghost cover the alternatives, and our guide to Kookaburra cricket bats compares every family.
What the Aura Numbers Mean
The number is the willow grade, as on every Kookaburra: the lower the number, the cleaner and straighter the grain. In our stock the Aura Pro is the top grade, then 2.1, 4.1 and 6.1. The 6.3 has an English willow face on a Kashmir willow back, the 6.5 juniors have a Pro Shield face covering, and the 8.1 junior is Kashmir willow.

What Independent Testers Said
The Cricketer tested the 2025 Aura 6.1 and scored it 7.0 overall in its 2025 bat review, headed "one for the powerlifters among you". The test bat weighed 2lb 9oz with 36mm edges, at an RRP of £230. One student tester said it had "a really nice middle"; another found the pick-up far lighter than two other testers did, with a middle "slightly higher than some of the others". Former England opener Mark Stoneman found the handle too thick for him and said it "felt a bit sluggish in the hands, but a good performance overall". We sell the 6.1 at £199.99.
