Hunts County Cricket Bats: Ranges, Prices and Who They Suit

Hunts County Caerulex Super Select cricket bat

Hunts County cricket bats are made in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, by a company that has made County bats since 1904. Every bat name pairs a range, which sets the shape, with a quality name: the Caerulex Super Select is a Caerulex shape in Super Select quality. We hold nine senior Hunts County bats from £199.99 to £434.99 and three juniors from £109.99 to £199.99. This guide explains the ranges, lists every bat we stock with our prices on 22 October 2026, and sets out which range suits which player.

Who Makes Hunts County Bats

County bats were first made at St Neots in Huntingdonshire by the Trimmins family in 1904, and production stayed there until the factory moved to Huntingdon in 1983, according to Hunts County's own history. The company says craftsmen from St Neots still make its bats at Huntingdon in the traditional way, and that it supplies more than twenty thousand bats a year worldwide. It also runs a repair service for any make of bat, from regrips to full refurbishment.

How the Range and Quality Names Work

The range name is the shape. The word after it is the quality, which Hunts County list separately for each range. These are the six ranges we stock, as Hunts County describe them:

Range Shape, per Hunts County Men's weights made Qualities
Caerulex Traditional shape, bowed profile, hand balanced, extended sweet spot 2lb 7oz to 3lb 2oz Super Select, Select, Special
Maximo Large bowed profile, thick edges, large sweet spot, top grade willow 2lb 8oz to 3lb Mayhem, Mania
Triumph Large bowed profile, thick edges, large sweet spot, top grade willow 2lb 8oz to 3lb Talent, Titan
Reflex Concave blade, low power zone, extra thick edges, balanced pick-up 2lb 7oz to 2lb 14oz Regal, Royal, Limited Edition
Neo Concave blade, low power zone, designed for immediate use 2lb 9oz to 2lb 14oz Style, Storm, Surge
Envy Concave blade, low power zone, designed for immediate use 2lb 8oz to 2lb 14oz Stealth

Hunts County also make the Platinum Player, in what they call player grade willow, and the Clipper; we do not stock either. Every current range has a rounded toe with a guard.

Hunts County Junior Bats

  • Maximo Mayhem Junior (2026): £179.99 in size 6 and £199.99 in Harrow.
  • Triumph Talent Junior (2026): £154.99 in size 6 and £174.99 in Harrow.
  • Neo Style Junior (2025): £109.99 in size 6 and £119.99 in Harrow.

Our Hunts County juniors are all size 6 or Harrow. For a smaller child, see our guide to the best junior cricket bats, and check the size first with our cricket bat size guide.

Which Range Suits Which Player

  • Traditional players: the Caerulex, a traditionally shaped, hand-balanced bat. It has the widest weight range Hunts County make, and we hold the Super Select in four weights.
  • Power hitters who want mass: the Maximo and Triumph, with large bowed profiles and thick edges, made up to 3lb. The Triumph Titan at £324.99 is £110 less than the Maximo Mayhem.
  • Front-foot drivers: the Reflex, Neo and Envy all have a low power zone, which puts the middle nearer the toe, where a full-length ball is met. The Reflex adds extra thick edges.
  • Players on a budget, or who want a bat quickly: the Neo Storm and Envy Stealth at £199.99. Hunts County design both ranges for immediate use, though we would still give either a light knock-in.

Players and Independent Tests

Dean Jones won the 1987 World Cup with Australia using a County bat, cricket.com.au recalls, before a landmark deal took him to Kookaburra. We have not found a current professional endorsement we can verify, and we found no review of a Hunts County bat by The Cricketer or Wisden. Our guide to what cricket bats the pros use explains why endorsements are a weak guide in any case.

Choosing a Hunts County Bat

  1. Pick the shape. Traditional (Caerulex), big and bowed (Maximo, Triumph) or low-middled (Reflex, Neo, Envy).
  2. Pick the price. Under £250 the Neo and Envy; £324.99 to £329.99 the Triumph Titan and Caerulex Special; £389.99 to £434.99 the Reflex Royal, the two Super Selects and the Maximo Mayhem.
  3. Check the weight in stock. Several bats are down to one weight. Our cricket bat buying guide explains how to judge weight and pick-up.
  4. Knock it in. Our guide to knocking in a new cricket bat shows how to prepare English willow before it faces a hard ball.
