DSC Spliit Cricket Bats: Senior and Junior Range Explained

DSC Spliit cricket bat

The DSC Spliit is DSC's big-edged, mid to low sweet spot range for the front-foot hitter, and the only DSC range we stock in both English willow and Kashmir willow. Seniors run from £199.99 for the Spliit 4000 to £524.99 for the Spliit 1000, and juniors start at £32.99 in Kashmir willow. This guide explains the Spliit profile, what DSC's grades mean, which senior and junior Spliits we stock with our prices on 22 October 2026, and who uses the range.

The Spliit Profile

DSC's UK product pages describe the English willow Spliits with the same shape:

  • Edges: what DSC call traditionally shaped, massive edges at the drive zone, with large edges along the whole blade on the Spliit 1000.
  • Sweet spot: a mid to low profile on the Spliit 1000 and 2000, with what DSC call an extended power zone on the 1000.
  • Bow and handle: a curved blade on the 1000 and a pronounced bow on the 3000 and 4000, with a treble spring cane handle on all three.
  • Weight: 1160g to 1200g for an adult bat, about 2lb 9oz to 2lb 10oz.

Our listings add detail. The 2026 bats are listed in their specification with a 295mm handle, a high spine, a full blade profile and a low sweet spot for front-foot play. The 2025 bats are listed with a mid to low sweet spot, thick edges and no concaving. Both years point at the same player: someone who drives hard off the front foot. In the DSC line-up that puts the Spliit lower than the Cynos, which DSC give a mid swell, and close to the Blak, whose middle Wisden's 2025 bat test logged as low. Our guide to DSC cricket bats compares every range.

What the Spliit Grades Mean

Spliit numbers run backwards, as on most DSC ranges: the lower the number, the higher the grade. DSC's UK pages make the Spliit 1000 grade 1 English willow, the 2000 grade 2, the 3000 grade 3 and the 4000 grade 4. Above them sits the Spliit Players Edition in what DSC call player-grade willow, with a 9-piece handle; DSC list it at £465 but show it as out of stock, and we do not carry it.

The shape stays the same down the ladder, so the extra money buys cleaner willow rather than a different profile. The Kashmir willow juniors use a different numbering again: the Spliit 110 and 440 are not part of the English willow ladder.

Junior Spliit Bats

Bat Willow Sizes in stock Our price
Spliit 440 (2025) Kashmir willow 3 £32.99
Spliit 110 (2026) Grade 1 Kashmir willow 1, 2, 3, 4 £42.99
Spliit 6000 (2025) English willow 3, 5, 6, Harrow £109.99
Spliit 4000 (2026) English willow 5, 6, Harrow, Small Adult £162.99
Spliit 2000 (2025) Grade 2 English willow 6, Small Adult £169.99
Spliit 2000 (2026) English willow 6, Harrow, Small Adult £189.99

The junior range splits by ball. The Spliit 110 and 440 are Kashmir willow, with a clear protective face tape and a toe guard in their specification, and suit a younger child on a softer ball. DSC list the Spliit 110 at £48. Our guide to English willow vs Kashmir willow explains the difference. For a junior on a hard ball, the Spliit 6000 at £109.99 is the cheapest English willow option and has the widest size run, from size 3 to Harrow. Use our cricket bat size guide to choose the size and our guide to the best junior cricket bats to compare brands.

What Independent Testers Said

We could not find a full review of a current Spliit at The Cricketer. The Wisden Gear Test 2024 included a Spliit Pro, listed as the Split Pro, at 2lb 9oz with 3.5cm edges, nine grains and an RRP of £623. Wisden picked out its "vast mid-low sweet spot" as the best detail but printed no tester verdict on it. That bat is a 2024 model and not in our stock.

Who Uses the Spliit

DSC's player page lists three internationals with Spliit kit: Australia's Usman Khawaja and Sean Abbott, and South Africa's David Miller. DSC's UK page for the Spliit Players Edition names Alex Hales, David Miller and Usman Khawaja as its endorsers.

Which Spliit to Buy

  1. Adult on a budget: the Spliit 4000 at £199.99 in grade 4 willow, the cheapest senior Spliit.
  2. Regular club player: the Spliit 3000 in grade 3, at £214.99 for the 2025 bat in 2lb 9oz or £249.99 for the 2026 bat in 2lb 8oz.
  3. Better willow: the Spliit 2000 in grade 2, from £359.99 for the 2025 bat.
  4. Top grade we stock: the Spliit 1000 at £524.99 in grade 1, in 2lb 8oz or 2lb 9oz.
  5. Junior: the Spliit 110 at £42.99 for a soft ball, or the Spliit 6000 at £109.99 for a hard ball.

If you want a higher middle for all-round stroke play, the mid swell Cynos is the DSC range to look at. Every English willow Spliit needs preparing before a match; our guide to knocking in a new cricket bat covers it.

FAQs: DSC Spliit

Is the DSC Spliit a good bat?
We found no full independent review of a current Spliit. DSC's own internationals, including Usman Khawaja and David Miller, use the range, and its big edges and low middle suit front-foot hitters.

Is a Spliit 1000 better than a Spliit 4000?
Yes. On the Spliit the lower number is the higher grade: DSC rate the 1000 as grade 1 willow and the 4000 as grade 4, with the same shape.

Is the Spliit English willow or Kashmir willow?
Both. The senior bats and most juniors are English willow; the Spliit 110 and 440 juniors are Kashmir willow.

Who uses the DSC Spliit?
Usman Khawaja, Sean Abbott and David Miller, according to DSC's player page, and DSC also name Alex Hales as an endorser.

What does the Spliit cost?
With us, from £199.99 for the Spliit 4000 to £524.99 for the Spliit 1000. Juniors start at £32.99.
