DSC Cynos Cricket Bats: Grades, Profile and Prices

The DSC Cynos is DSC's full-profile, mid-swell bat for the all-round stroke player, and the range Australian all-rounder Ash Gardner uses. It is also the cheapest way into senior DSC English willow: with us the Cynos 11 costs £159.99 and the top Cynos Players £439.99. This guide explains the Cynos profile, what DSC's grades mean for each model, the junior sizes and who uses it, and lists every Cynos we stock with our prices on 20 October 2026.
The Cynos Profile
DSC's UK product pages describe every Cynos, from the 11 to the Players, with the same shape:
- Blade: a traditional full blade profile with what DSC calls massive edges.
- Face: DSC's Powerarc bow face profile.
- Sweet spot: a mid swell position, which DSC says balances power and control.
- Player type: designed for all-round stroke play.
DSC's range copy adds that the full profile blade comes with precise balance and a weight suited to playing long innings. Neither DSC nor our listings publish edge, spine or sweet spot measurements for the Cynos, so the shape is described rather than measured. That makes it the middle shape in DSC's line-up: the DSC Blu has a mid to low profile and the DSC Blak a low sweet spot. Our guide to DSC cricket bats compares every range, and our comparison of Indian cricket bat brands sets DSC against the other subcontinent makers.
What the DSC Grades Mean
Cynos numbers run the opposite way to most of DSC's ranges: the higher the number, the better the willow. DSC's UK product pages give the grade for each model. The Cynos 11 is grade 2 willow, the Cynos 22 grade 1, the Cynos 33 grade 1+, the Cynos 44 what DSC calls pro-grade willow and the Cynos Players player-grade willow.
DSC does not define each grade on those pages, so read them as a ranking within the range. The profile is the same from top to bottom, so the extra money buys a higher grade of willow, not a different shape.

Senior bats in stock on 20 October 2026; SH is short handle. Each model is down to a single weight, so check the listing before you set your heart on one. The 2025 Cynos 22 is £30 less than the 2026 bat of the same model, and the year changes the sticker rather than the willow grade. Every bat here is in our DSC cricket bats collection.
Junior Cynos Bats
| Bat | Willow | Sizes in stock | Our price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cynos 11 (2025) | English willow | 5 | £129.99 |
| Cynos 22 (2026) | English willow | 6 | £199.99 |
| Cynos 44 (2025) | English willow | 5 | £199.99 |
| Cynos 44 (2026) | English willow | 5, 6 | £229.99 |
All four are English willow in sizes 5 and 6 only, so they suit a junior already playing with a hard ball. The 2025 Cynos 11 at £129.99 is the cheapest; a size 6 Cynos 22 costs the same as the 2025 senior Cynos 22. Use our cricket bat size guide to choose the size and our guide to the best junior cricket bats to compare brands.
Who Uses the Cynos
DSC's player page lists four internationals with Cynos kit: Australia's Ash Gardner and Jess Jonassen, and India's Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil. DSC's UK page for the Cynos Players Edition names Ash Gardner as its endorser, and DSC's international site sells the same player-grade bat as the Ash Gardner Cricket Bat.
Which Cynos to Buy
- Adult starting out: the Cynos 11 at £159.99, in grade 2 willow and the cheapest senior DSC bat we stock.

If you play mostly off the front foot on low, slow pitches, the Blak's low sweet spot may suit you better, and the DSC Krunch is last season's range, listed with what its specification calls a monster profile. Every English willow Cynos needs preparing before a match; our guide to knocking in a new cricket bat covers it.
FAQs: DSC Cynos
Is the DSC Cynos a good bat?
We could not find an independent test of a Cynos; The Cricketer's DSC reviews cover the Blu 4000 and Pearla X2. DSC's own international players use it, and for most club cricketers the grade 1 Cynos 22 does almost everything the dearer models do.
Is a Cynos 44 better than a Cynos 11?
Yes. DSC rates the Cynos 11 as grade 2 willow and the Cynos 44 as pro-grade, with the same profile. On the Cynos, a higher number means a higher grade.
Who uses the DSC Cynos?
Ash Gardner, Jess Jonassen, Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil, according to DSC's player page.
Where is the sweet spot on the Cynos?
DSC gives it a mid swell position, aimed at all-round stroke play.
What does the Cynos cost?
With us, from £159.99 for the Cynos 11 to £439.99 for the Cynos Players. Juniors start at £129.99.
