TON Cricket Bats: Silver and Gladiator Ranges and Prices

TON Gladiator 4.0 cricket bat

TON cricket bats are made by Sareen Sports (SS) of Meerut, and the range we stock is one of the easiest to read: the number on a Silver or Gladiator bat is its willow grade. A 2.0 bat is Super Grade 2 English willow at £499.99, a 3.0 is Super Grade 3 at £349.99 and a 4.0 is Super Grade 4 at £299.99, with the Reserve Edition 2.0 in Grade 1 willow at the top. We hold seven senior TON bats and two juniors. This guide lists every one with our prices on 22 October 2026, explains the grades and covers the independent tests and how to choose.

Who Makes TON Bats

TON is a range name of Sareen Sports Industries, the company better known as SS. NK Sareen founded it in 1969 and it is based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His son Jatin Sareen, the managing director, has said in an interview that his father started making bats under the Sareen Sports name because family reasons stopped him playing, and that he himself joined in 1996 and made bats for Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh early on. Every TON bat we stock comes with an SS bat cover, in its specification.

How the TON Names and Grades Work

Take the Gladiator 3.0. Gladiator is the line and 3.0 is the grade: the specification gives it Super Grade 3 English willow. Super Grade is the scale TON's UK bats are graded on, and the lower the number, the better the willow and the higher the price. Silver and Gladiator follow the same ladder at the same prices, and both are described in their specification the same way: air-dried English willow, large concave TON edges and an extended sweet spot. Nothing in the specification sets the two lines apart in shape, so choose between them on weight, pick-up and looks.

The Reserve Edition 2.0 sits above both lines in handpicked Grade 1 English willow with a laser-engraved finish, in its specification. It costs the same as the 2.0 bats with us, so at £499.99 it is the better-graded choice.

The UK range is named differently from TON's home market. On the SS site in India the Silver Edition is a single bat in Grade 2 willow, and the Gladiator is a single bat in what SS call Player Grade+ willow at the top of the range. Do not use Indian reviews of a Silver Edition or Gladiator to judge a numbered UK bat.

Independent Test Results

We found three TON bats in The Cricketer's annual bat guides. The Cricketer names them differently from our listings, so we cannot confirm that any is identical to a bat we stock; read them as a guide to the line.

  • Gladiator IV, 2026 guide: Super Grade 4 willow, 38mm edges, 2lb 9oz, RRP £280. It scored 7.6 overall. Testers found it "solid and substantial", though some felt it was slightly too heavy and slow through the downswing.
  • Reserve Edition, 2025 guide: 37mm edges, 2lb 8oz, RRP £375. It scored 6.8. The former England opener Mark Stoneman called it "a nice all-round bat", while student testers found the low middle made the pick-up feel heavy.
  • Gladiator IV, 2024 guide: 35mm edges, 2lb 10oz, RRP £200. It scored 7.7 and was the lightest bat the testers assessed that year; one pupil named it his favourite of all those tested.

We found no Wisden test of a TON bat.

Players Linked to TON and SS

In its 2025 bat guide, The Cricketer wrote that TON bats are favoured by the England batters Jonny Bairstow and Phil Salt. Other SS users over the years include Kumar Sangakkara, Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran and Tim David, and SS made the Reebok-branded bats used by MS Dhoni. Sponsorship deals change every season, and our guide to what cricket bats the pros use explains why a professional's bat is rarely the one on the shelf.

Choosing a TON Bat

  1. Pick the grade for your budget. The 4.0 bats at £299.99 are the entry point; the 3.0 bats add a grade of willow for £50 more; the 2.0 bats and the Reserve Edition are £499.99.
  2. At £499.99, take the Reserve Edition if the weight suits. It is a grade above the Silver 2.0 and Gladiator 2.0 for the same money.
  3. Choose Silver or Gladiator by weight and feel. The specification does not separate them, so the weight in stock decides it. Our cricket bat buying guide explains why pick-up matters more than the label.
  4. Knock it in. Prepare any new English willow bat before it faces a hard ball, with our guide to knocking in a new cricket bat.
