DSC Blu Cricket Bats: Grades, Profile and Prices

The DSC Blu is a big-edged bat with a mid to low profile, made in English willow from grade 4 at the Blu 5000 up to grade 1 at the Blu 2000. At £629.99 the 2026 Blu 2000 is the most expensive DSC bat we stock. This guide explains the Blu profile, what DSC's grades mean, what The Cricketer made of the Blu 4000, the junior sizes and who uses it, and lists every Blu we stock with our prices on 20 October 2026.
The Blu Profile
DSC's UK product pages describe every senior Blu with the same shape:
- Sweet spot: a mid to low profile with what DSC calls an extended power zone. Our 2026 listings describe it in their specification as a low sweet spot extension.
- Edges: traditionally shaped, with big edges at the drive zone. The Cricketer's test bat had 38mm edges.
- Blade: a curved blade.
- Handle and weight: short handle, 295mm long in the specification of our 2026 bats. DSC quote 1,160g to 1,200g for the adult size, about 2lb 9oz to 2lb 10oz.
Next to the DSC Cynos, which has a mid swell and a full profile, the Blu's middle is set lower in the blade. Our guide to DSC cricket bats compares every range, and our comparison of Indian cricket bat brands sets DSC against its rivals.
What the DSC Grades Mean
Blu numbers run the usual DSC way: the lower the number, the higher the grade. DSC's UK product pages put the Blu 6000 and Blu 5000 in grade 4 English willow, the Blu 4000 in grade 3, the Blu 3000 in grade 2 and the Blu 2000 in grade 1. DSC also list a Blu 1000 in grade 1, which we do not stock. The Cricketer's review also describes the Blu 4000 as grade three willow.
The profile is the same at every grade, so moving up the range buys better willow rather than a different shape.

What Independent Testers Said
The Cricketer tested the Blu 4000 and scored it 7.4 overall in its March 2026 bat review, headed "easy to trust at the crease". The test bat weighed 2lb 9oz with 38mm edges, at an RRP of £275. Build quality and pick-up both scored 8, while performance on the day scored 6.6. Testers praised its consistency, its control and the way the ball came off the blade, and noted the comfortable weight; one felt it was not quite at the level of higher-grade bats. We sell the Blu 4000 at £239.99 for the 2025 bat and £264.99 for the 2026 bat.
