CA Cricket Bats: Pro and Gold Ranges, Models and Prices

CA cricket bats are made in Sialkot, Pakistan, by a family business that has been making sports equipment since 1958, and Babar Azam has used them since 2025. The English willow bats come in two main ranges, Pro and Gold, with a number that places each bat in its range and, at the top, signature and Players Edition bats. Our CA English willow bats start at £104.99. This guide explains how the names work, lists every CA bat we stock with our prices on 15 October 2026, and covers the juniors, the players and how to choose.
Who Makes CA Bats
Charaghdin Abdul Rasheed founded the company in Sialkot in 1958 to make wooden lawn tennis rackets, and his children named it CA Sports after his initials, as Dawn reported in a history of the firm. CA says it produced the first curved cricket bats in 1979, and its bats were used by Pakistan's leading players through the 1980s and 1990s. The business is still family-owned, now run by the third generation, according to CA's own history.
Today CA bats are sold by two Sialkot companies that share the 1958 heritage. CA Sports makes the Pro range and the SM-18. CA International makes the Gold range, including the Gold Dragon and the Gold Players Edition. We stock bats from both, and they are all CA.
How a CA Bat Name Works
The range name tells you which company's line it is: Pro or Gold. The number places the bat within that range, and a higher number means a higher model at a higher price; CA do not say that the number stands for anything else. Plus is an older CA name for a numbered bat; our Plus 5000 is a 2024 model. Above the numbered bats sit the signature and premium models, where the willow grade is spelt out: Shoaib Malik's SM-18 comes as a 5 Star in high-grade English willow with six or more grains and as a 7 Star in Grade A willow with seven or more, and the Gold Players Edition uses Grade 1 willow with seven or more grains.

Who Uses CA Bats
The best-known current CA player is Babar Azam, who ended his deal with Gray-Nicolls and moved to CA at the start of 2025, as Aaj News reported. His signature bats are sold as the BA 56. CA name Shoaib Malik as the player behind the SM-18 and Fakhar Zaman among the users of the Gold Dragon. Over the decades CA bats have been used by many of Pakistan's leading batters, from Saleem Malik, who CA say was the first Pakistani to use its curved bat in international cricket, onwards.
Are CA Bats Ready to Play
CA describe their Pro bats as ready for use, with light oiling recommended before play. We would still knock in any new English willow bat before facing a hard ball, because a few hours of knocking in costs nothing and protects the face. Our guide to knocking in a new cricket bat shows how. Genuine CA hard-ball bats carry a seal with a 12-digit code that can be checked on CA's website.
How to Choose a CA Bat
- Under £200: the Plus 5000 or the Gold 8000 give a club player an English willow bat for under £200.
- £250 to £350: the Pro 12000, Gold 15000, Pro 15000 and Gold 17 are the core club bats. The step up buys better-looking willow with more grains.
- Over £400: the Gold Players Edition and Gold Dragon use CA's best willow, the Players Edition being the one with a stated Grade 1.
